Google your way in…

February 18th, 2006

While I didn’t make it to the RSA Conference this year, I met with a few people who came to San Jose to attend. Had I been there, I am sure that the presentation on security holes exposed by Google would have been my favorite. Read the article here and be amazed what Google helps you find.

So you can find more than you would expect at google.com, but if you are in China you may be out of luck. In context with the recent dicussions of Google obeying Chinese government rules, this is a really interesting statement they gave at the hearing before the Committee on International Relations of the U.S. House of Representatives.

By the way, there is a lot going on in Europe while I am away, including the MotionBridgeacquisition by Microsoft and tons of news from the 3GSM conference. I found the MotionBridge deal interesting since the wireless search space really seems to be heating up - in the US UpSnapacquired XsVoice to round off its service in January and 4info just recently got funding from Gannett, a publisher that owns papers such as USAToday.
