Opening Session at Demo
This morning the first bunch of companies presented at Demo, there is a good run-down at the Conferenza blog.
The conference has a format that provides both on stage demonstrations (6 minutes each) as well as an exhibition hall where each company has an exhibition table. Walking around the hall you can check out all sixty-odd participating companies.
However, it’s also a big show and superlatives abound (everything is disruptive, mind-boggling and market-changing…). Last year there was a nice write-up comparing Demo with CodeCon by Lee Gomes in the WSJ (syndicated here), and I think the comparison will look similar this year. By the way, I’ll also be at CodeCon again later this week, which my firm (BV Capital) is sponsoring again. I guess I was the only VC at CodeCon last year, but I’d almost bet there will be more this time around…I’ll keep you updated.
