Last week I posted the idea to hold “office hours” by phone, to allow people to call in after signing up by email with a quick description of their interest.
I didn’t quite know what to expect, and I was pleased to see that the idea was well received. I squeezed eight conversations in a 3hr time window and the range of discussions was refreshing - from graduate students who want to build a company and find out how the whole venture capital model works all the way to seasoned executives who wanted to know if BV Capital might be the right fit for them.

And again I found that people who contact me after reading my blog seem to be in the right area, probably because they know quite a bit about my interests after reading my posts. One commenter to my office hours post remarked that I might get stuck listening to pitches of people from sectors I have nothing to do with - well, while this could happen so far it has luckily not. I also realized that at some point it might sense to come up with some kind of VC FAQ, but I think I’ll have a few more sessions before I attack that topic.
