Geek Sports
I just played with a piece of software that has been around for a while but must be the best marriage of geekdom and sports…TrailRunner for the Mac.
It lets you import data from the Nike/iPod combo, works with Google geographic data and does a bunch of other cool things. Seems like it’s developed by a very dedicated German runner, so he or she knows what features matter. I have actually seen a few start-ups working on similar things, and while I’d need to be convinced there is a venture opportunity here I find it a very slick piece of software!
