Ryanair as a technology leader?
Not that it had anything to do with venture capital, but I did find this article posted at Forbes quite interesting: Apparently Ryanair is considering to allow the use of cell phones on planes. They are fuzzy about whether this would be done using “pico cells” on board or just “allowing” the cell phone to connect to ground base stations…anyways, both approaches seem difficult. Given that Boeing just announced that it will discontinue its Connexion service, this seems like a surprising move…I doubt that it will come true. And maybe it’s not for the worst if the plane remains one of the places where there is no connectivity…
