If you looked at my slides posted below, there is a whole lot of talk on how companies make money on the Internet. Apart from the compulsory mention of AdSense I didn’t mention how individuals can make money with their sites. Here’s a list at technorepublic I just came across that gives a good summary of ad networks, affiliate programs etc.:

Note that there is some pretty experimental stuff in there, for example CREAMAid. You get paid if you write a blog post that essentially gets syndicated on as an ad. In my view this is missing the point of blogging and user generated content in general. Brands paying bloggers to submit commercials and then selecting the best one (according to the brand’s taste, not the community’s!) seems like a half-baked approach to user-generated content (did someone say this word is overused?).
