Michael just pointed me to an interesting incubation initiative in Cologne: Speedseed (Site in German). The folks there started with their own entrepreneurial activities back at university and their incubation program seems to be well suited for students: Teams that are accepted into the program get to work with the Speedseed folks for three months, getting hands-on help to get their project off the ground and potentially ready for presentation to interested angel/VC investors.
The three Speedseed people want to pick ten teams for their (pre-)incubation program, which seems to be quite a lot in my book, given the amount of time required to really help in the very early phase and assuming they aren’t doing this full-time. Yet, this sounds like a cool (pre-)incubation idea worth watching.

Chris, this endeavor is really very exiting for us as well. We hope to get the thing going. Since part of the way we want to do this is new, we have a lot of questions to answer and new roads to built. We are happy to have you have an eye on us!
